You can display video and images from DropBox on screens in your business using the standard VuePilot apps, you simply need to use the direct or “download” links to the resource.
By default, when you copy a “share” link from the Dropbox dashboard it will copy a URL to a web page that embeds that content into it for presentation. This allows you to send to clients and customers in a way they can view. A video share URL for example will embed the video in a player on the website.
This website, cannot be used with the VuePilot video and image apps, instead you need to use the direct or “download” link.
This is easily done by simply changing the “www” at the front of the share URL to “dl” instead.
For example
A default share URL for a gif image
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0skuwdlhg6q4fol/History%20of%20GIF.gif
A direct or “download” URL for the same gif image
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/0skuwdlhg6q4fol/History%20of%20GIF.gif
You can use this direct URL in any VuePilot app that requests a URL for an image or video.
